ROSEMONT, IL – May 2, 2008, Reyes Holdings, L.L.C. announced the acquisition of Mesa Distributing in San Diego, California, which sells 8,500,000 cases of Miller Lite, Heineken, Samuel Adams Boston Lager, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Guinness, Fat Tire, Pilsner Urquell, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Rogue American Amber Ale and Pyramid Hefe Weizen among a diverse variety of other brands including such revered, local, craft brews as Coronado Golden, Arrogant Bastard Ale and Ballast Point Wahoo Wheat Beer.
Today, Mesa Distributing joins Reyes Beverage Group -- Reyes Holdings’ beer division -- extending its existing Californian coastal territory from Santa Monica and Orange County all the way to Mexico, including the counties of Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego.
The addition of Mesa Distributing strengthens Reyes Beverage Group’s Southern California team to over 1,000 professionals who service over 10,000 retailers through its Harbor Distributing, Gate City Beverage Distributors and Mesa Distributing companies.
"Our Cinco de Mayo festivities begin a few days early this year with the addition of Mesa Distributing,” said Tom Reyes, President Harbor Distributing and Gate City Beverage Distributors. “We are honored to welcome Mesa’s knowledgeable employees to Reyes Beverage Group and we feel privileged to expand our relationship with our brewing partners to distribute their great beer in San Diego, one of California’s largest and most vibrant cities.”
The transaction includes Mesa Distributing’s 180,000 sq. foot San Diego warehouse where Reyes Beverage Group’s comprehensive "Green" initiative will be enacted to reduce the company’s use of energy and raw materials while also reducing the amount of waste that it disposes of each year.
