LEE DISTRIBUTORS UNLEASHES DOGFISH HEAD’S OFF-CENTERED ALES AT TASTE OF CHARLESTON
CHARLESTON, SC – October 8, 2009, Lee Distributors, having recently obtained the distribution rights for Delaware, Craft Brewer, Dogfish Head’s extreme beers, is set to unveil its off-centered ales at the Taste of Charleston on October 11, 2009.
Dogfish Head and it’s founder, Sam Calagione are well regarded in the Craft Brewing community. Calagione is the brainchild behind challenging drinkers’ perception of what beer is supposed to be with super-strong extreme beers, crazy made-up beer styles and the use of unique ingredients.
Patrick Collins, President Lee Distributors, said, "We worked hard to bring these extraordinary beers to South Carolina from the Delaware brewery. Over the coming weeks, those of legal-drinking-age in South Carolina, will be able to see why international beer writer Michael Jackson called Dogfish Head "America's most interesting and adventurous small brewery” by ordering a 90 Minute IPA, Midas Touch, Palo Santo Marron or Pangaea in pubs and restaurants across the Lowcountry.”
Just last month, Dogfish Head Gold, brought home three medals from the Great American Beer Fest in Denver where 46,000 beer-lovers cheered on as 127 judges from 11 countries recognized the best brews by beer style. This year, Dogfish Head’s wins included a gold medal in the Specialty Beer category, a Silver medal in the Herb and Spice or Chocolate Beer category for Pangaea, and a Bronze medal in the Specialty Beer category for Palo Santo Marron.
